A Historic Achievement for DTC
Domboshawa Theological College (DTC) has reached an exciting milestone. Through a collective fundraising effort, the college successfully purchased a flat in Harare to provide accommodation for its staff.
This project became a reality thanks to the dedication of the Domboshawa UK Trust, Domboshawa House Trust, DTC students, and the generosity of overseas donors. Together, they raised an impressive USD 88,000 to fund the purchase.
“This is quite a milestone for us,” said Dr. Roy Musasiwa, Principal of Domboshawa Theological College. This achievement symbolises not just growth for DTC, but a strategic investment in its most valuable asset — its people.
Our First Tenant
The first resident of the new flat will be Nevermind Chidavaenzi, DTC’s dedicated IT Manager.
As a newly married man with one child, Nevermind will benefit greatly from secure, quality accommodation near the college. His role is critical. He manages DTC’s IT systems, which are essential to the college’s smooth operation and modernization.
At a time when skilled IT professionals are highly sought after globally, offering secure housing is a vital strategy. It encourages valuable team members like Nevermind to stay and grow with the college.
This step ensures both continuity and excellence in DTC’s technological infrastructure.
Why Staff Accommodation Matters
Investing in staff housing offers long-term benefits to DTC. These include:
1. Enhanced Staff Retention
Providing quality accommodation encourages key staff to remain with the college longer.
2. Improved Staff Welfare
Secure, affordable housing greatly improves the well-being and satisfaction of employees.
3. Increased Operational Efficiency
Having essential personnel close by enhances system responsiveness and maintenance.
4. Stronger College Community
A supportive environment builds a committed, engaged college community focused on the mission of leadership and theological education.
